Changes are coming to the WHIO Radio Morning show as they'll lose their longtime news anchor.
Meteorologist Dontae Jones Fox 8 News, broke the news on his Facebook account that Chris Collins is exiting the radio station. According to his LinkedIn page, Collins has been with WHIO Radio since 2010, so the listeners in that area have heard him for over a decade.
"Dayton/Miami Valley friends! If you've ever listened to the WHIO Radio Morning show, no doubt you would hear the informative voice of my buddy Chris Collins WHIO Radio!" Jones wrote on Sunday. "Well tomorrow is his last day with WHIO as he makes us all jealous and takes to retirement!"
"He and I both worked in eastern North Carolina for a while in our careers and we always talked about that. it was always pure joy to walk into the radio studios and be able to laugh it up with Chris, never a dull moment as he is a genuine and kind soul. Please help me in wishing Chris all God's blessings in his RETIREMENT!!"
There is no further information from the Barrett News Media side on what the station will do to fill the role, but as soon as there are updates, there will be a new story.
