MASN analyst FP Santangelo has not called a Washington Nationals game in over a month following two sexual misconduct allegations over Instagram this spring. According to The Washington Post, it is not clear when or if he will rejoin the booth again.

Santangelo played seven years in the Major Leagues, including his first four with the Montreal Expos who became the Washington Nationals prior to the 2005 season. Following his playing career, he had stints in radio in Sacramento and San Francisco before joining the Nationals broadcast team in 2011.

MASN is controlled by the Baltimore Orioles, but the Nationals have veto power over who is on their broadcast team. Following the allegations, MASN investigated the since-deleted posts before enlisting Major League Baseball's help with the matter. Due to Santangelo's employment with MASN and not MLB, all MLB can do is make a recommendation to the network as opposed to action.

FP Santangelo briefly returned to the booth following the first allegation for two games between the Nationals and Atlanta Braves May 4-5. The second allegation featured similarities to the first, though it has not been confirmed if they are by the same person or two different individuals. Santangelo called the allegations "untrue" and "they did not happen."

"This is not representative of who I am as a man or a professional," he said last month. "I am confident that my name and reputation will be fully cleared."
