After social media platforms banned former President Donald Trump following inciting violence which resulted in the Jan. 6th insurrection at the Capitol, he decided to create a blog to stay connected with his followers.

However, barely a month since its launch, Trump ordered the blog called "From the Desk of Donald Trump" to be shut down. The Washington Post reports that the former president wants his blog taken down due to the mocking that it's receiving because of its low traffic.

According to the Post, on the final day, the Trump blog was live; it had 1,500 blog shares on Twitter and Facebook. These numbers are a far cry from when the former president would see his tweets, which would often garner millions of retweets, comments, and shares before and during his presidency.

The Post relayed the comments from A Trump adviser who stated that the ex-commander-in-chief still wants to start a social media platform in the near future. Meanwhile, The Hill reached out to Trump's senior aide Jason Miller to comment on the blog shutting down and stated it "was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on."
