CNN's controversy regarding their anchor Chris Cuomo aiding his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, is part of a conservative group's new advertisement campaign.
The Hill reports that Club for Growth is spending $30,000 to tell viewers that it's time to change the channel. The group claims that CNN is obsessing over former President Trump and biased in its coverage of President Biden.
"The Cable News Network used to break news," the ad states. "Now they're breaking records, losing nearly 70 percent of their viewers since President Trump left office. And no wonder. They're still obsessed with Donald Trump."
According to the group, the advertisement will run on Facebook and YouTube for about ten days, with the target audience being conservatives. Furthermore, the ad also targets CNN anchor Don Lemon and accuses Cuomo of helping his "big brother cover-up scandals," referring to the anchor's coverage of his brother.
"It's about giving them a voice and hopefully bringing change," Joe Kildea, vice president of communications at the Club for Growth, said. "The ad drives users to a standard activist dashboard-style page which allows them to send CNN a message."
