Spotify has been known to curate some of the best personalized playlists based on your taste in music, such as Discover Weekly and Daily Mix.
Now, they have just launched Spotify DJ in the Philippines for all Spotify Premium subscribers!
To explain Spotify DJ, just imagine having a personalized DJ that can curate a personalized playlist that's full of different genres, music you love, and music you've never listened to that it thinks you'll like.
It also learns by checking what music you listen to, what playlists and artists it finds you listening to on repeat and learns to custom tune the music it puts out to suit your taste.

The Spotify DJ's voice is actually based on their Head of Cultural Partnerships, Xavier Jernigan, and is likewise given his nickname "X".
His voice will guide you on what's going on and what songs will be coming up next while giving off the vibe of a classic pop radio host.
The best way we can describe using Spotify DJ is that it felt like having a dedicated radio station that was made just for you cause one of the issues we've always had with radios is that the music they play is generally not suited to everyone's taste.
But with Spotify DJ, you can simply click it and start blasting away tunes from albums, artists, and playlists that you would like.

In our opinion, the more you get to use Spotify DJ, the more you get used to simply pressing it when you get in your car when you sit down and have a study sesh, or when you just wanna play tunes in the background instead of searching for a certain playlist, album, or artist. There's just something nice about simply clicking Spotify DJ and instantly getting banger after banger to listen to.
Some people may say, why not just play straight from a certain artist or one of the playlists Spotify has already created while not going through the extra steps of having some DJ talk to you?
To that, we'd say the effect of a DJ telling you what's going on and what type of music is coming up does really add an extra level of 'immersiveness' when listening to music; it feels as if someone has curated a playlist of your favorite songs just for you and plays it live with X's voice coming up every now and then to create a great vibe.
It's also great that Spotify DJ incorporates songs that it finds you listening to frequently while mixing them with songs you have never heard of so that you may discover your new favorite song and add them to your favorites to listen to a hundred times before getting tired of it like we all do.
Spotify DJ also doesn't stick to just one artist, playlist, or genre of music as we noticed, it usually jumps to a different artist or genre of music every 5 songs, this gives it a sense of variety that keeps you entertained.
We believe Spotify DJ is a great first step into the world of AI for Spotify, and we're excited to see where Spotify DJ is headed in the near future.
