A few months removed from a series of heated on-air exchanges, Shannon Sharpe is planning to leave FOX Sports and his co-hosting role on Undisputed according to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post.
Sharpe had sat opposite Skip Bayless since 2016, when Skip left First Take on ESPN to join FS1.
Tensions between Shannon and Skip boiled over earlier this year over Bayless' tweet over the Damar Hamlin situation, and again back in December when Skip accused the three-time Super Bowl champion of being jealous of quarterback Tom Brady. Bayless downplayed Sharpe's accomplishments on the field and made it sound like Shannon had achieved nothing in the NFL because he won less championships.
The fight over the Hamlin tweet left many in sports media believing the end of Skip and Shannon's run together was near.
Sharpe is expected to exit at the conclusion of the NBA Finals, which tips off Thursday night. Shannon's Club Shay Shay podcast will also be leaving the FOX Sports catalog.
