These past few years, having a hybrid or flexible work arrangement has become the new norm for most. As a result, those with a hybrid work setup no longer have to go to the office every day. Instead, they can opt to do so from wherever they are. It can be at home, at the beach, or even from an entirely different country.
To keep up with the trend of a hybrid workforce, Dell has just introduced a new lineup of commercial products to make hybrid work a lot easier. Some of these include the new Precision and Latitude lineup of laptops, displays, and even keyboards and mouse.
A few weeks back, we flew over to Malaysia to check out the Dell Technologies Commercial Client and Ecosystem Showcase, and we
got to check out all of these new and upcoming products. More importantly, these are some of the products that you might end up using especially if you're working for large companies.
Dell Latitude Series
One of the models that easily caught our attention was the new Latitude lineup of laptops, particularly the new Latitude 9440. At first glance, you might mistake it for a regular Dell XPS laptop thanks to its similar design.
One of the key features of the Latitude 9440 is the new keyboard and touchpad. The touchpad also comes with a new feature that includes shortcut buttons to access the microphone, camera, screen sharing, and even chat controls. Dell tells us it's integrated with Zoom, making the app easier to use.
If you do end up back at the office, there are a bunch of ports to use including an HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1.
Aside from the Latitude 9440, Dell also introduced the updated Latitude 7340 and 7440 which are some of the lightest in the market.
Both series of laptops run on the latest Intel 13th-generation VPro chipset, which is specifically tailored for companies, businesses, and similar enterprises. They also come with multiple speakers and mics, making them better for online conferences.
Dell Precision Series
While the Latitude series laptops are aimed at being lightweight and portable, the Precision series models are more like mobile workstations.
We got to check out the Precision 7680 Workstation at the event, and it packs quite a punch. It features a large 16-inch screen with a 16:10 ratio and even UHD+ resolution.
Like the Latitude series, it runs a 13th Generation Intel VPro processor. This one can be spec'd with an i9-processor and even 64GB RAM. Meanwhile, graphics are handled by an NVIDIA RTX 5000 Series Ada Generation card.
Despite being a workstation, it's still relatively slim. You even get 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports and multiple USB-C and USB-A ports.
There are other Precision models you can check out at the Dell website including the Precision 7780 and the more compact 3000 and 5000 series models.
Dell UltraSharp Monitor
It's not just laptops that were showcased at the event; Dell also had the new UltraSharp 32 6K monitor. The monitor was first announced at CES 2023, and we got to try it out.
In terms of specs, the monitor features a 32-inch IPS Black panel with 6K resolution or 6144x3456. Dell also tells us it's one of the most color-accurate screens, making it ideal for content creators or even professionals working in the creative industry. I loaded up some of my images on the display, and it certainly lives up to the claim.
But aside from being a very capable monitor, the UltraSharp 32 6K also supports video conference. There's a built-in 4K webcam, and it even comes with integrated speakers which were surprisingly great. Like the Latitude laptop, there's even a panel to automatically close the webcam, answer calls, and mute the microphone.
Dell OptiPlex Series
Despite being focused on hybrid work setups, Dell believes that office work isn't dead yet. It's also why they showcased the OptiPlex series of all-in-one computers.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the OptiPlex series. To make it easier for consumers to choose the right specifications for their business needs, Dell also simplified the options. Like before, however, there are still multiple options available and specs. Some of the OptiPlex models on display include the 7010 SFF and OptiPlex 7010MFF.
Dell Premier Keyboard and Mouse
Along with the laptops, monitors, and towers, we also saw some of the new Dell keyboards and mice.
The one that caught our attention is the Dell Premier Collaboration Keyboard KB900. What makes it special are the four LED icons that offer one-touch shortcuts for videoconferencing. These include muting your microphone, screen sharing, and even turning your camera on and off. It's similar to the one on the Latitude 9440 but for a keyboard.
Other peripherals include the Premier Rechargeable Bluetooth mouse MS900 and even webcams.
"Dell continues to drive circular innovation in our product design, packaging, manufacturing, materials and services. We are expanding the use of low-carbon emissions aluminum to include more recycled content and extending this material to more of our portfolio, including the Latitude 9440, and Precision 5680, and to the Latitude 7000 series later this year," said Anothai Wettayakorn, vice president, Asia Emerging Markets and South Asia Consumer and Small Business, Dell Technologies.
Hopefully, we'll get to try out some of the commercial products like the UltraSharp 32 6K monitor and even the Latitude 9440 laptop in the future.
