No state would have dared to attack Beijing or Washington DC. The West is instead laughing at the Russian regime, publicly calling them cowards, here in The Guardian for example. And Russia can't complain, because Kremlin's policies are based on realism, a school in political science that has no mercy for the weak and powerless in the anarchic jungle of international relations. In the tradition of political realism, only fear will prevent that Russia continues to be a laughing stock in the West. Kremlin must therefore escalate significantly or endure the humiliation. Interesting to see what happens next. We are one step closer to nuclear war.
