The Masters takes place this weekend. It will be the first Masters since the debut of the LIV Golf tour, and the drama is something WEEI's Greg Hill says will have him invested.
During The Greg Hill Show, the host quoted a statement from LIV Golf's Greg Norman that claimed LIV will have a strong presence at the event and won't be shy about celebrating should one of its members win the major.
"They've said that if one of them wins then the other 17 will hang around and be there to congratulate him around the 18th green," Norman told The Telegraph. "Could you imagine what a scene that would be, all these players hugging the winner? You only see things like that in the Ryder Cup, although it's happening in our events more and more."
"I'm praying it happens," co-host Courtney Cox said. "I just love the chaos of that of just watching the people in charge of the PGA Tour quivering in the background."
"What about like Scottie Scheffler? He theoretically could have to help a LIV tour player put his arms into the green jacket in Butler Cabin," Hill said.
Hill continued by noting that LIV critics -- namely Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy -- are presenting the drama as "good versus evil", which leads to increased interest. He added that Greg Norman has helped make every player on the PGA Tour more money due to his role with LIV, which will only create more intrigue.
"Just look at the potential for drama," Hill said. "Look at tonight's Champions Dinner. There's gonna be awkward drama there. There's gonna be PGA Tour guys paired up with LIV guys."
