Modern Warfare 2 is the latest release in the ongoing Call of Duty video game franchise. As with many modern games there is a season pass, here named Battle Pass, during which you can unlock various additions to the game. However, it's being done differently this time around and the tokens that you require keep going missing. So why do Battle Pass tokens disappear in Modern Warfare 2 and how do you get them back?
Modern Warfare 2 – The Battle Pass that's a little different
Usually with any kind of season pass you unlock elements of it linearly. You start off with, say, the first items and after so much gameplay you move onto the next.
With MW2 it's presented as a map, divided into areas. Each area touches one or more others. Initially, the bottom left is unlocked and you can then move to any part of the map that it touches. There are five things to unlock in each section – four minor elements and a major one. You can't unlock the major one until you've collected all the minor ones. Each one requires a token, which you earn during your games. So, one area of the map requires five tokens to completely unlock, allowing you to then unlock any other sections that it touches.

Where is my token?
At the end of each game a large image of a token will appear and it will be seen to be filling up (it's actually quite subtle and it took me a few games to realise this was happening). Once it's filled, you unlock a token and it's added to your profile. To see your current quota head to the Battle Pass screen and it will show in the bottom-right, hand corner.
Except it won't.
A bug in the game means that any you've collected will not show up. The total number will be zero and if you try and use one, you can't. In the above example I actually have one token unspent and I'm just over half way to collecting another (which you can see from the subtle shading taking up about 60% of the token's hexagon). Thankfully, the fix is easy...

How to restore missing tokens in the Modern Warfare 2 Battle Pass
- Back out of the game until you're at the Call of Duty title screen
- Sign back in and go into the Battle Pass screen
- Your tokens will now have appeared
Enjoy spending them!
Alternatively, you can just close the game down and restart it, which will do the same thing.
