Memphis talk show host Todd Starnes said Monday the mainstream media is trying to force a narrative on the public to change the facts of the Paul Pelosi attack case.
"Something doesn't add up, actually a lot of stuff doesn't add up about this attack on Paul Pelosi," said Starnes. "We now understand that the attacker, David DePape, is a hippie, he's mentally insane, and he's a lunatic."
Starnes said according to the police reports and the 911 call this case does not appear to be a targeted attack against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
"That's what the media wants you to believe," he said. "They (media) want you to believe that this guy showed up in the early morning hours of Friday and he was banging on the door and demanding to know where Nancy was."
Starnes said the media has reported this story more aggressively than they reported about the man who showed up outside of Justice Brett Kavanaugh's home with zip ties and duct tape.
"The early reporting from local Fox affiliate KTVU was that when the police showed up they found two men wearing nothing but underpants and they were fighting over a hammer," said Starnes.
Starnes said both the local Fox affiliate and the NBC affiliate have pulled their reporting and retracted those stories.
"There are also reports out there from local law enforcement who are saying the narrative that's being presented to the media right now is not in fact accurate," he added.
