Russia denies planning to give up vast Ukrainian nuclear plant
NATO Review:
Russia's nuclear coercion in Ukraine
"In Ukraine, Russia's nuclear threats were ostensibly meant to compel Ukraine to surrender, and Western countries to halt their assistance. In fact, Ukraine's armed forces have shown no inclination to end their defensive actions, even going so far as to strike Russian targets on Russian territory. Meanwhile, Western countries have neither halted nor slowed the flow of aid to Ukrainian troops."
If crazy Russians retreat from Zaporizhzhia NPP it will encourage reckless neocons to cross more of Kremlin's red lines. NATO supporters often say that Putin is bluffing when threatening to use nukes, and to justify this assumption they claim that Russia hasn't yet deployed atomic weapons despite NATO ignoring many of the red lines of Russia. They fail to understand that it will take up to 12-18 months for Russia to prepare domestically for WW3, and this can explain why no immediate nuclear response has occurred so far. NATO supporters are in any case so reckless as to play nuclear Russian roulette in Ukraine, which shows that they are willing to potentially destroy the whole world in order to win, which means that neocons will become even more emboldened if Russian forces leave the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
Ethically speaking it's no doubt that Russia should retreat from the Zaporizhzhia NPP, but given the offensive nature of neocons/neoliberals who want to destroy all autocracies it's a tragic fact that a withdrawal from this NPP will weaken Russia's position in Ukraine. This NPP is one of Kremlin's crazy and totally evil trump cards. It's true however that the decision-makers in Kremlin are unpredictable, since they have done many strange things in Ukraine, so they might retreat from the Zaporizhzhia NPP, but the crazy logic of the MAD doctrine and NATO's reckless mission creep (escalation) in the Ukraine War have probably convinced Kremlin that it's better to stay in the Zaporizhzhia NPP and use the plant as the ultimate form of terror in a war that's on the brink of a nuclear holocaust.
