Kaitlan Collins continues to rise as she's tasked, alongside Don Lemon and Poppy Harlow, to raise CNN's presence in the morning news ratings battle.
Before being part of "CNN This Morning," Collins served as the White House correspondent, and on Sunday, The Washington Post published a profile on the network's rising star.
One question that the newspaper asked the new morning anchor was about her political affiliation.
When The Post asked whether Collins believes individuals have cast her politically due to her time working for the Daily Caller, the CNN morning anchor stated she is "completely nonpolitical," adding that "if people surmise things, that's fine."
Also, CNN boss Chris Licht said he doesn't "even know what her politics are." Despite Collins coming on board the cable news network under form president Jeff Zucker, she has formed a good working relationship with Licht.
"I think Chris is doing a great job, and he's very invested, and has very good news values," Collins said. "And I realized that early on. If you're a reporter who cares about reporting, that's what you want."
Now Licht is entrusting Collins to be one of the leaders to puts their morning show alongside "Fox & Friends" and "Morning Joe."
