On Thursday's edition of "Tucker Carlson Tonight," the Fox News host called singer-songwriter Maren Morris a "lunatic country music person," which ended up inadvertently helping Morris (h/t The Wrap).
Morris used the phrase from Carlson to launch a t-shirt that read "Maren Morris: Lunatic Country Music Person," followed by the phone number for the Trans Lifeline hotline and helped Morris raise over $100,000 for trans rights groups.
All sales from the t-shirt proceeds will be split between the Trans Lifeline and GLAAD's Transgender Media Program. Morris notified via Instagram stories that the shirts had raised $63,000 and exceeded more than $100,000 in only 15 hours.
Carlson initially went after Morris due to the country singer's ongoing feud with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country star Jason Aldean.
Aldean published a video of herself doing her makeup along with the caption, "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase."
Morris and country musician Cassadee Pope, among others, fired back against the comments made by Aldean on social media, leading to Carlson going after Morris on his show.
