It is believed that 97.1 The Eagle will transition to a sports talk station called 97.1 The Freak, with Rhyner, former Eagle hosts Ben Rogers and Jeff "Skin" Wade, former 105.3 The Fan host Jeff Cavanaugh, and former Ticket hosts Julie Dobbs and Mike Sirois will all be a part of the new station. 97.1 The Eagle was previously the radio flagship of the Dallas Mavericks.
