The Recount's Twitter account posted a video of a segment on One America News that they labeled as "gross" and "anti-transgender," leading former radio host Joe Walsh to comment.
OAN had former President Donald Trump on the telephone where he boasted about banning transgender people from serving in the military, stating "99% of the people agreed" with his policy reversal.
Walsh responded to the clip, stating that if anyone can meet the requirements to serve in the United States military, they should be allowed to join whichever branch.
"It doesn't matter if you're straight," Walsh tweeted on Tuesday. "It doesn't matter if you're gay. It doesn't matter if you're transgender.
"If you can meet the basic requirements to serve, you should be able to serve. My former political party, like its leader, is cruel, intolerant, and angry."
The topic of masculinity in the military has become a trending topic. Over the weekend, The Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro stated that wars are best combated by what he characterized as "typically very patriotic, very male people."
Cenk Uygur, the host of "The Young Turks," responded by tweeting at Shapiro that plenty of nations allow women in their military, such as Israel.
"I can't believe that @benshapiro is calling the Israel Defense Forces weak," Uygur tweeted on Monday. "They allow women into their military and thereby ruin it, according to Ben. Hope word doesn't get out in the region."
