A former politician turned convicted sex offender is crediting 77 WABC's Sid Rosenberg for helping him settle in while he learns his new role as a talk show host.
Anthony Weiner told the "Bernie & Sid Show" Thursday that he's grateful for second chances after serving nearly two years in federal prison.
The former New York Congressman was convicted of sexting a teenage girl. According to CNN, he served the first part of his sentence in a Massachusetts prison. His sentence was reduced for good time.
"There's nothing that the suits like more than somebody who is sexting on the side," Weiner joked. "They love that kind of stuff."
Rosenberg added the last time talked to Weiner he was emotional after his life-changing prison term.
"The opportunity that John and Margo Catsimatidis gave me here to do this show on the weekend called "The Middle" is not what people think," Weiner said. "We don't do the hard left or the hard right, we just talk about the issues a little bit more."
Weiner credited Rosenberg for helping get comfortable in his new role. He said the candid conversation the pair had about Weiner's past allowed him to forgive himself and move on.
"When I came on with you and because of your background, because of my background, that conversation really did help with your very large audience. This has been great," he added.
