Syndicated radio host and columnist Grace Curley is reacting to shocking comments made on MSNBC Monday from contributor Elie Mystal regarding Hershel Walker (GA) and the Republican party.
Mystal appeared on "The Cross Connection" with Tiffany Cross. Mystal is who Black, called Walker "unintelligent" and insinuated that he can't speak for himself.
"That's what Republicans like," Mystal said. "That's what Republicans want from their Negroes."
Curley asserted that left-leaning pundits can be as racist as they want to be if they are criticizing somebody with a different opinion.
"Walker presents as someone who lacks independent thoughts," lacks an independent agenda, and the ability to grasp policies," added Mystal.
Curley said what she finds offensive about Mystal's comments is that it seems to be alright "for liberals to question someone's blackness if it doesn't align with their point-of-view."
"It's really disturbing that this is allowed now in public discourse as long as it's against a conservative."
Curley was joined by Newsweek's Darvio Morrrow. He said social media has enhanced this type of thinking.
"It's like they (liberals) always go to the lowest common denominator," Morrow added. "It drives me nuts. The same thing they accuse others of doing is what they're doing."
