The world of news media has its share of mainstream outlets, and often what many consume on these networks are arguments and loud debates on various issues. Former CNN host Chris Cuomo states that most of the country is tired of that coverage.
During his appearance on Friday's edition of "Real Time with Bill Maher," Cuomo stated that Americans are looking for an alternative to what the current cable news channels are providing.
"I believe people do want an alternative," Cuomo told Maher. "I believe the majority of people in this country are what I call free agents. They have open minds and open hearts. They're not about party."
"They're about respectful conversations, and you can get after you can disagree. You just don't have to surrender to hating a person that you don't agree with. And you're open to the idea that maybe they know something you don't, right? Or just see the world differently."

Cuomo will be looking to provide American cable news viewers an alternative as the former CNN host transitions to NewsNation beginning this fall. The network prides itself on giving its audience the facts with no conversations that lead to people arguing over each other.
"NewsNation believes in the work I am doing with the Chris Cuomo Project, and I look forward to building something special here," Cuomo said during his interview with Mediaite found Dan Abrams.
"Covering news wherever it happens and having conversations that cater to common concerns and solutions rather than political parties or the political circus."
