Tennessee State University and 94.9 The Game have struck a deal that will see Tiger football games air on the station.
The Tigers program has seen a resurgence in prominence after the hiring of Heisman Trophy winner and former Pro Bowl running back Eddie George in 2021. In addition to game broadcasts, a weekly show with George and OutKick 360 host Jonathan Hutton will air Mondays at 6:00 PM on sister station 102.5/106.3 The Game. George will also make a weekly appearance on Chase, Willy, & D-Mase on Fridays.
"The addition of TSU to our already strong lineup was a natural fit. The tradition of TSU combined with Eddie George's football knowledge further solidifies our position as Nashville's Best Sports Talk," 94.9 The Game Program Director Chase McCabe said. "I look forward to having Eddie as a prominent member of our team while helping grow the TSU brand."
Greg Pogue will continue to serve as play-by-play announcer. Former Tennessee Titans Chris Sanders and Brad Hopkins will serve as analysts.
Tennessee State, an HBCU, went 5-6 during George's first season leading the program.
