Citroën has given its large electric van, the ë-Relay a light refresh for 2022 with an upgraded battery pack resulting in a bit more range. The ë-Relay also shares the same underpinnings as the Vauxhall Movano-e which has also benefited from this upgrade.
The ë-Relay has two battery pack options, a 38kWh with 73 miles of range and a larger 75kWh pack. Citroën has left the smaller one as it is, but the larger one has been increased from 70kWh to 75kWh, which has resulted in 15 miles extra range - with 154 miles in total.
The Citroën ë-Relay has a front mounted electric motor, which produced 118bhp and 260Nm of torque. If the van is fully loaded with 1,100kg it'll still reach its limited top speed of 75mph. Charging for the ë-Relay is Type 2 as standard, but both battery sizes do support 50kW on a rapid charger.
While Citroën has increased the battery size and increased the range, the price has not gone up at all. The 37kWh model is £51,285 ex VAT and after the UK Government £5,000 plug-in vehicle grant for large vans. The larger 75kWh van is £57,035.
All models do come with rear parking sensors, air conditioning and a 5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment.
