On his show Sunday, Stelter was joined by GOP strategist Kristen Soltis Anderson. Soltis Anderson said voters tend to focus on things that impact their day-to-day lives. Stelter dismissed the discussion as a common talking point for right-leaning political pundits. "When I hear you say they're worried about crime, I kind of hear a Republican narrative," he said. Soltis Anderson said voters tend to think public safety is a big deal. "In 2018, those swing voters probably looked a little more like Democrats in terms of their priorities, but this year for the midterms, it's the opposite."
