Could we see former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer back on the set of Big Noon Kickoff on Fox Sports? It's possible according to one Ohio State insider, but given how things went down while Meyer was the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, it might not be the smartest thing to do.
Pat McAfee and his staff did have a suggestion for what Fox Sports could include in a contract with Meyer should the network want the coach to return to Big Noon Kickoff.
"No dancefloors," McAfee said Wednesday, a reference to an incident involving Meyer after the Jags' trip to Cincinnati in 2021 where he was seen on video dancing with a college-aged woman who was not his wife. "Alright here we go, we'll pay you this, you gotta do this, show up to this, break this film down, give us the three things for everything, and all of a sudden no dancefloors on these college campuses."
Show producer Nick Maraldo jumped in saying he didn't appreciate what Meyer did to paint dancefloors in a negative light.
"I don't like him giving dancefloors a bad name," Maraldo said. "Plenty of people go out on dancefloors and have a great time with no finger gun incidents."
"Urban Meyer did blame the dancefloor and not himself for that entire thing," McAfee added.
Pat McAfee did admit Meyer was talented as a TV analyst. Meyer is currently working on a foundation that aims to help provide Ohio State student-athletes with NIL deals. But you never know what could happen.
"He was great on TV," McAfee said. "But we'll have to see how it goes."
