Actor Mel Gibson clearly wanted no part of the controversy involving Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at last week's Academy Awards. Gibson appeared on "Jesse Watters Primetime" with Jesse Watters to promote his new movie "Father Stu."
Watters was discussing the plot with Gibson. The two were having a typical dialogue about the movie's true meaning when Watters deviated from what Gibson expected to discuss.
Watters told Gibson that he probably understands ego better than most people who aren't dominated by it.
"And I was wondering if, you know, you had been the one that jumped up out of his seat and slapped Chris Rock, if you would have been treated the same way, Mel?"
As Gibson laughed, a handler for the star broke in to say the interview was over.
"Um, thank you, Jesse. That is our time," said a female voice, prompting Watters to end the interview.
