ProFootballTalk co-host Chris Simms is gearing up for the NFL Draft. Like a lot of other analysts, he's put together a mock draft and is ready for a long weekend of coverage in Las Vegas. He reviewed his predictions with Dan Patrick on Tuesday.
The radio host asked Simms to relive what it was like to be on the other side of these evaluations and predictions.
Simms had a successful career at Texas, but his draft profile indicated he couldn't win the big game. He told Dan Patrick that point motivated him on the field.

"It affected me. It affected me in the fact that I wanted to prove them wrong," he said. "I didn't think it was fair necessarily."
Patrick asked if his performance in big games ever came up in interviews with teams. Simms said oddly enough it didn't.
"I was always waiting to get that. But nobody ever asked me," he said. "And then I'd go home and my agent would talk to me and go, 'That's kind of what teams are worried about.'"
Chris Simms was ultimately selected in the 3rd round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2003 NFL Draft. He played 23 games over seven NFL seasons, throwing for 3,117 yards and 12 touchdowns between the Bucs, the Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos.
