CBS News is taking home some silverware as the news division received recognition with 20 National Headliner Awards, one of the oldest and largest annual contests. These awards spotlight outstanding journalism in newspapers, photography, radio, television, and online.
The network announced that its television and radio side earned seven first-place honors and 13 second-place and third-place honors in the 88th National Headliner Awards.
When it comes to the television side of the first place awards for CBS News, 60 Minutes: "The Final Act," 48 Hours: "What Happened to the Perfect Child?" and CBS Sunday Morning: "On Point" received that first-place recognition for the journalist reporting on those pieces.
On the radio side, "CBS News World News Roundup," "Assault On The U.s. Capitol," and "CBS News Radio – One Year Later."
This year's CBS News second-place honorees are:
