Prepare yourself. NFL Plus is coming, according to Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic.

Rough plans of the NFL's subscription streaming service, which will feature game broadcasts, radio play-by-play access, podcasts, and team-specific content, were presented to league owners at annual meetings taking place in Palm Beach, Florida. Kaplan reported the service is still very much in development, and owners won't have a chance to really see anything until the next meeting in May.

The NFL is in the midst of juggling a series of different deals that have either expired already, or are due to expire in the near-future. The deal that allowed Verizon and Yahoo Sports users to stream games on their phone, computer, or tablet expired at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, the league is shopping around its Sunday Ticket service for a potential new taker, which has one more year on DirecTV. It has been widely documented that Apple and Amazon are being considered as partners, with a stake in NFL Media involved as well.

But the idea of the NFL getting into the streaming space as its own standalone product is being seen favorably. No telling when the service will actually get the green light and be offered to fans.
