New models of Amazon Kindle ebook readers are coming out all the time. We're currently on the 11th generation of them which, confusingly, doesn't relate to how many of each model has come out (e.g. the latest model released is the fifth version of the Kindle Paperwhite). How do you work out which Kindle you have?
To find your model, you first need the serial number from your Kindle, the initial part of which will tell us what we need to know.
How to find your Amazon Kindle serial number
Whilst on the main library page, press the three vertical dots icon in the top right-hand corner
Select Settings
Now select "Device Options" and then "Device Info"
The window that appears will list information about your device, including its serial number
How to find which model of Kindle you have
Use the table below and look up the initial part of your serial number - it should match one of the devices below.
