Twitter has rolled out a new feature for automated accounts or "bots" to self-identify as "good bots" to make it easier for users to differentiate automated from human-run accounts.

The feature was first tested in September 2021 but is now rolling out globally. All automated accounts will now have the option to add a new label (an image of a robot) to their account Profile. The label will give people on Twitter additional information about the bot and its purpose to help them decide which accounts to follow, engage with, and trust.

Twitter will hold a series of activations to discuss the feature, including a Space and live demo for developers.
