AirPods three have been a mediocre experience for the first two weeks I have used them. They sound good, but then again every Apple earbud has sounded great to me, starting with the wired ones back from 2011-12 or so.

The larger shape fit a bit better in my ear, however, they tend to fall much more compared to the first generation from what I have upgraded and that doesn't make any sense … but they do. While talking normally with them in, I feel them getting looser and looser and if I dare to smile or God forbid laugh, they come right off.

Getting them out of the case is a huge hit or miss for me, as I often drop them while trying to just get them out … the angle of grip is really uncomfortable given their bulky shape and the shorter stem does not help at all.

The biggest advantage of these third gen and hands-down worth the $155 spent on them is the battery life. I can easily get through an 8 hour day at work with them barely getting to 50% and that is simply astonishing. I also charge the case once or twice a week, depending on when I remember about them, so in this regard, they have surpassed all my expectations.

During Black Friday, I got my wife a pair of AirPods Pro for $170 and I don't know for what reason did I think that the Pros are as uncomfortable and painful as my JLabs JBuds Air, because they are not even close. Furthermore, I was so surprised with how the Pros felt in my ears, that I considered pulling the trigger and getting a pair of Pros for myself as well … but I decided to stick with the third gen and deal with the problems above so that I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to sell the third gen and then trying to find the same deal on the Pros … by the way the Pros sold out the next day at Walmart, so even if I really really wanted to do it, I would have been forced to wait at least until Christmas, but realistically I don't expect the same kind of deals at the end of December.

So that concludes the first two weeks of my life with the third gen AirPods. It's a mixed bag of emotions, but at the end of the day, I would much rather have them instead of the wired ones, or instead of a cheap pair of JLabs, or anything else. So even at the steep price point, they are totally worth it for me, especially given the fact that our first gen lasted us almost two years, and we only decided to upgrade because we only had one pair, so we just HAD to both get something new and better, these should in theory last me a good while, unless Apple decides to totally revamp them next Fall.
