Sunil Mittal-led telecom Bharti Airtel has said that 5G networks could go live as soon as within two quarters after the spectrum auction. CTO Randeep Sekhon said that 5G auctions could take place early next year, and within a year after the auction, "we could see most of the country covered by 5G". However, the auction might get postponed by the Department of Telecommunications, unless the pricing recommendations are set by November.
