Spencer Hall, Jason Kirk, Holly Anderson, and Ryan Nanni have built quite a following amongst college football fans with their podcast The Shutdown Fullcast. The irreverent and almost defiant take on breaking down the sport is exactly the kind of thing that would fit in Dan Le Batard's universe. Anderson announced on this week's episode that that is exactly where they are headed.

Details are scarce, but Shutdown Fullcast and Meadowlark Media are partnering to produce a live Saturday night show during the college football season. Jessica Smetana of The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz will also be a part of the project.

"We're in the very very very very very very very beginning stages of planning some sort of live Saturday night situation in the spiritual time slot of our beloved, great departed College Football Final," Anderson said.

The idea was born out of a desire not to do something. Fans had been asking for some sort of feed to watch games along with the quartet. While that isn't happening, it seems a late night recap show is.

"It will be free as far as we know," is all that Anderson could offer at the moment.

Shutdown Fullcast began as a series of YouTube videos starring Hall and Kirk under the name "Shutdown Fullback." Between their quick wit and a level of creativity that gives the hosts the ability to tell the story of college football using the Bible or use their following to generate funds for the Atlanta-based charity New American Pathways, the show is a natural fit in the Le Batard universe.

The fact that putting together a new show for them is like "just kinda fielding the play while we're flying the plane" according to Anderson, is well-tread territory for Le Batard fans.
