Like many games these days, Apex Legends has "seasons", which you can buy with a Season Pass. Find out more about what these are and how you can get them.

What is a Season Pass?

Simply put, this is a predetermined period of time over which you can earn extra rewards. Although anyone can earn some of those rewards, many of the better ways are reserved for Season Pass holders. Whether playing Destiny 2, Call of Duty, or many other (usually FPS) games, the Season Pass is a popular reward method. I'm resisting the urge to say "money spinner for the developer" because that's not necessarily true - we'll get onto that.

What most Season Passes have in common is that if you buy it at any point after already playing the season without one, you'll immediately get any of the exclusive items you missed.

But here's why I don't think these are the big income stream that they may seem - most Season Passes will give you enough points as rewards to buy the next one for free. You see, they're less an immediate method of income, and more a way to hook you into the game in the hope that you'll spend more long term.

What do you get with an Apex Legends Season Pass?

The current season, as an example, includes over 100 rewards. These consist of Apex Packs, 1200 Apex Coins, 1200 Crafting Metals and numerous customisations from weapon skins to kill quips.

How do I buy an Apex Legends Season Pass?

The Season Pass can be bought in-game with 950 Apex Coins. If you're not sure how to earn or buy these, then please see my article on Apex Legends currency. Long story short - you can either earn these in-game or purchase them from online or retail stores. Indeed, Apex Coins is the only Apex Legends currency that can be bought with actual money. So, if you're new to the game and/or haven't earned enough, then buying Coins is the only way to go.

However, once you've got through that initial season, depending on how much of the season you completed, you can earn up to 1200 Apex Coins, meaning that you'll have more than enough to buy the next Pass when it comes along.

Even if you don't have a Season Pass you can earn up to 300 Apex Coins from the season.
