Meet the Press host and NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd lashed out at those spreading misinformation regarding the coronavirus vaccine.
"Nearly 10,000 people died [from the coronavirus] in the month of June. They were needless deaths," Todd said. "Please get vaccinated. If you know someone who is not vaccinated, find a way to convince them to get vaccinated."
Todd became visibly angry, directing his rage at politicians, activists, and media personalities who have been questioning the necessity and safety of coronavirus vaccines.
"Shame on you. People are needlessly dying because of your misinformation," Todd said. "I don't know how some of you sleep at night who are doing this for a living on television."
Federal health officials say communities with lower than average vaccination rates, particularly in the southeast and rural midwest, are fueling the spread of the delta variant.
Todd cites CDC Director Rachel Walensky's report that more than 1,000 counties in the country have a vaccination rate of lower than 30 percent.
"Literally, the only people dying are the unvaccinated," Todd said.
