Stories, support, and admiration have poured in for longtime WFAN program director Mark Chernoff after he announced his retirement. He was bestowed another honor on Wednesday as WFAN announced it has named its newsroom The Mark Chernoff Newsroom in honor of the longtime executive.
Chernoff worked with Howard Stern at 92.3 K-Rock before coming over to WFAN where he's been instrumental in some of the most prominent sports radio programs in the country. That list includes Mike and The Mad Dog, Boomer and Carton, and more. While he will not physically be in the station for the day-to-day, a plaque will serve as a reminder of his legacy at the station.
The plaque which will hang in the newsroom reads, "Program Director 1993-2021. Influenced the sound of New York sports over four decades while nurturing the careers of many who traveled this space. Dedicated June 30, 2021."
