Jim Ross is taking a break from calling AEW matches. He has been diagnosed with skin cancer and will undergo extensive radiation treatments. During that time, he will not be on television.

Ross's is the voice most synonymous with professional wrestling for most fans. He hopes that they have not heard it for the last time this year. He tweeted that his goal is to be back with AEW before the end of December.

Tony Kahn took to Twitter as well. The AEW CEO affirmed that he is fully on board with Ross's plan for treatment and recovery.

Jim Ross is known by many for his work in professional wrestling. He has been in the spotlight as the voice of the WWF/E, WCW, New Japan, and now AEW. Younger fans may not know (and older fans may not remember) that he was also part of the Atlanta Falcons' radio broadcast in 1992. He also provided college football commentary for FOX Sports and called boxing matches on FS1 in the past.

In addition to his TV duties, Ross has been a staple of professional wrestling front offices. He served as the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations with the WWE. He is a senior advisor to the AEW.

He has also played a major role in the popularity of professional wrestling in the podcasting space. He debuted The Ross Report in 2014. It was part of the PodcastOne and Westwood One networks at various times. He now hosts Grilling JR.

AEW fans first learned of the skin cancer diagnosis in October. Jim Ross revealed it to fans via Twitter.
